The Kennedy Whistle is the unofficial timekeeper for the City of Owen Sound.
Originally, a signal to the work force of the Kennedy Foundry - a long blast of the whistle indicated the lunch break at 12 noon and the end of the workday at 5 p.m.
Now ringing out from atop the Community Waterfront Heritage Centre, the whistle continues to be a testament to the history of the community to this today.
As an homage to the past, 89.3 CFOS FM is going to blow the Kennedy foundry whistle at Noon and 5pm each weekday on the radio.
