WIARTON, ON – September 2, 2016 – Tim Hortons annual Smile Cookie campaign is back to bring even more smiles to communities across Canada. Starting September 11th, for one week, Tim Hortons guests can purchase a freshly baked chocolate chunk Smile Cookie for $1 plus tax at participating restaurants, with 100 per cent of the proceeds being donated by Tim Hortons restaurant owners to support local charities, hospitals and community programs.
Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation is encouraging residents of and visitors to the Bruce Peninsula to visit either the Wiarton or Hepworth Tim Hortons to purchase a Smile Cookie in support of our Foundation.
The Smile Cookie campaign started in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children's Hospital in Ontario and has grown to become a major fundraising event at Tim Hortons restaurants. With blue eyes and a pink smile, the Smile Cookie has become an iconic symbol of the commitment of Tim Hortons guests and restaurant owners to strengthen their communities. Last year, the campaign raised $6.3 million across Canada and supported more than 460 local charities.

About Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation:

The mission of Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation is to assist in meeting the health care needs of the people of the Bruce Peninsula area by raising funds for priority hospital projects to keep our hospitals current. We strive to provide opportunities for our community to engage in philanthropic activities which support outstanding health care.
Our Foundation supports two Grey Bruce Health Services Hospitals - Lion's Head and Wiarton, as well, our Foundation supports regional hospital and corporate needs.
