Peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 6, 2018 of Hanover, formerly of Markdale, in her 93rd year. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years, Ralph. Loving mother of Dean(Denise) of Woodstock and grandmother to Colton(Ashley) of Texas and Tyler(Katlin) of Mitchell. Proud great grandmother to Jaxon.Predeceased by brothers Elgin and Bruce McCutcheon and sisters Freda McCutcheon and Evelyn Little.
Helen was born in Osprey Township on March 9, 1925 to William and Elizabeth McCutcheon. She met and married the love of her life, Ralph on October 2, 1954 inWarham, Ontario.She was Registered Nursing, graduating in 1948. She started her career at TorontoGeneral Hospital, in the 1950’s she became the Superintendent of Nursing at Markdale Hospital(now Grey Bruce Health Services, Markdale Site), her career took her to Orangeville hospital to the surgical unit, which she much enjoyed, and before retiring she moved into recovery. After retirement she much enjoyed time at the lake, which was easy living at Irish Lake, her knitting, puzzles and reading. Her real joy came from watching her grandchildren grow, and learning of the birth of her great grandson.
The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception, Flesherton on Wednesday, January 10 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm and again on Thursday from 1:00 -2:00 pm. Funeral Service from the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 2:00 pm. Spring entombment in Flesherton Cemetery, date to be announced in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Centre Grey Hospital Foundation or charity of you choice would be gratefully appreciated.
