A lot of new faces among Brockton‘s staff as the municipality experiences an influx of new hires.
In total there have been eight recent hires, two of those are senior administrative positions and one involves filling the Community Development coordinator vacancy.
Mayor David Inglis says the fresh faces will bring fresh energy and a fresh perspective to Brockton.
Included in the new hires is James Morgan - Brockton’s new Director of Operations, Fiona Hamilton the new Clerk and Paulette Peirol the new Community Development Coordinator.
Director of Operations James Morgan has now been on the job for two weeks and says he is very excited to return to his old stomping grounds.
The Bruce County ‘boy’ brings with him 13 years of experience in municipal government including past Manager of Operations in the Township of Chatsworth and Mapleton where he also covered Parks and Recreation. (Prior to this he was with the Municipality of North Perth)
Morgan says one of his key priority projects right now is the draining and revamping of the south Walkerton water tower.
As for Clerk Fiona Hamilton, she has moved from the private practice (lawyer firm) to municipal life and is enjoying her new role and the challenge that comes with it.
Brockton’s new Community Development Coordinator Paulette Peirol has not yet had a chance to get her feet wet, she begins her first day on October 9th.
CAO Sonya Watson says there has been a lot of change and transition in Brockton in order to keep up with retirements and resignations.
She calls it exciting times as the new hires mean new ideas and new energy.
Watson is looking forward to working with her new team as they move forward together.
