The Festival of Northern Lights in Owen Sound needs volunteers this year.
Festival Administrator Heather Gillis says they need people for the opening night, setup and teardown and could even use some facepainters this year.
Gillis is excited for a new light installation this year called the Infinity Light Tunnel which is a 16 ft high 100 ft long light tunnel you can drive through in Harrison Park. Gillis says there's about 3,500 ft of rope light.
"They're all computer controlled, they dance to music. So that's somehting we're very, very excited about."
The Festival of Northern Lights takes place Saturday November 17th to Sunday January 6th.
Light displays are placed from the Harbour all the way to Harrison Park.
Gillis says the opening of the festival is set to happen at 2 p.m. on the 17th, after the annual Kiwanis Owen Sound Santa Claus parade goes at 10 a.m.
The Festival's afternoon fun will start with activities at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery and there will be other things to do dowtown including Santa's Workshop Crafts, Storytime with Mrs. Claus at the Library, a selfie station, face painting, hot cholocate at the market and music.
Festival Fireworks and the 'Lighting of the Lights' is scheduled to take place at 7p.m. with wagon rides to follow.
This is the Festival's 31st year. It started with about 30 light displays and now has about 400.
