Grey Bruce | by Claire McCormack

Grey Bruce OPP stopped a number of drivers for doing more than 50km/h over the limit.

Grey Bruce OPP suspended more drivers' licences for stunt diving this weekend.

On Friday evening at about 8 p.m. (June 26th), OPP say they stopped an 18 year old driver from Milton doing 145km/h in an 80km/h zone on Highway 6 near Pike Bay Road in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Another driver was stopped at about 11:15 Saturday night (June 27th) on Highway 6 in Northern Bruce Peninsula near Limestone Ridge Road.
According to OPP, the 24 year old Scarborough woman was driving 140 km/h in an 80km/h zone.

About 15 minutes later, at 11:30 Saturday night (June 27th) OPP say an officer stopped a 17 year old novice driver from Newmarket for doing 180km/h in an 80km/h zone on Highway 10, near Flesherton.

Each of these drivers had their licences suspended for seven days and their cars impounded for seven days.

On Sunday night, police clocked a sports car on Highway 6 near Greig Settlement Road near Wiarton doing 205 km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Police say the car appeared to be racing with another car.

OPP say when they threw on their cruiser lights, the two cars kept on driving in what they describe as a very aggressive manner.

A second cruiser managed to stop one of the vehicles.

A 19 year old from Brampton is charged with dangerous driving, flight from police and stunt driving. Their licence is suspended and vehicle impounded, both for seven days.
