Warm weather and rain has prompted the closure of snowmobile trails across southwestern Ontario
Manager of District 9 of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, Karen Buratynski, says clubs originally closed their trails earlier this week when they got word of warm weather on the way
However, the area received more rain than anticipated and the majority of the trails are now eroded.
Buratynski says the long range forecast looks good for sledders
Getting a few days of cold weather before a big snowfall will help freeze over wet areas.
The trails opened the end of December, two weeks earlier than normal and Buratynski says during those days the trails were open they were very busy
