John ChristieRemember When/Sunday Afternoons
Owen Sound native John Christie began his broadcasting years in 1967, while still in high school, when he joined 560 CFOS as a part-time weekend and summer relief announcer. Upon graduation in the following year, he became part of the full-time staff, working on-air and as a copywriter and producer. John moved to Kitchener in 1971 and became copy chief of an AM-FM pair of stations. After two and a half years, it was on to London, serving there as senior copywriter, promotions coordinator and program researcher/producer. John returned to this area in 1983, working full time in the transportation industry, but retaining a freelance relationship with radio. He re-joined the Bayshore Broadcasting family in July 2004 and now hosts the weekend editions of "Remember When." Although theoretically semi-retired, John also keeps busy as an Owen Sound city councillor, United Church lay preacher and hospital chaplain.
