The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce celebrated their grand opening at their new location downtown on Wednesday.
The organization announced last year that it would be moving into the former Sun-Times Building at 290 9th Street East.
The space was renovated by the Awsman Group, and will allow staff to help families, individuals, and youth across the region.
CEO Sarah Cowley says that staff is excited to carry on working for the community as it has for the past 147 years.
Deputy Mayor Scott Greig presented the YMCA with a Certificate of Recognition, and also thanked the charitable organization for their work, and strengthening downtown Owen Sound by investing in their new home.
The new YMCA location is designed to support enhanced programs in health and wellness, child care, employment, settlement and language services, community initiatives and serves as the head office for Association Services staff.
It’s the first all these departments are under one roof.
