The region remains under a heat warning from Environment Canada for today.
The organization is calling for a daytime high of 31, but the Humidex is expected to make it feel like 39 Celsius.
They’re suggesting that everyone continue to avoid strenuous activity during the hottest times of day, taking breaks from the heat by spending time in air conditioning, and staying hydrated.
Check on older adults, those who live alone, and anyone with a chronic condition.
The UV index is also expected to be 9 or Very High, so wearing sunscreen and keeping to shaded areas is advised while outdoors.
This weather also makes it possible for sudden thunderstorms to pop up.
