Owen Sound Police Charge Alleged Fentanyl Trafficker

Police arrested 25-year-old on Thursday.

Owen Sound Police have arrested and charged an alleged fentanyl trafficker.

City Police say just before 12 p.m. yesterday a drug trafficking investigation conducted by officers concluded with the arrest of a 25-year-old Owen Sound man.

Police say members of the Drug Enforcement Unit and Criminal Investigations Branch took the 25-year-old into custody on Alpha Street.

Owen Sound Police say the accused was found in possession of more than $2,500 worth of highly toxic purple fentanyl, and other undisclosed items police claim are associated with drug use and trafficking.

The Owen Sound man is charged by police with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police have not named the accused.
