Hi, this is Fred Wallace with " Off the Wire ".
It's the MOST wonderful time of the year, especially for those involved in our schools.
Sure, the political climate is not smooth, but what teacher, what student, doesn't LOVE the Christmas Holidays.
From a Bluewater Athletic viewpoint, after yesterday's whiteout, the final games of the pre-Christmas season are scheduled to go today
There's Bluewater North Boys Basketball in Owen Sound.
There's Bluewater Girls Volleyball in the South at Walkerton
Plus a neat all-Owen Sound matchup in curling at the Bluewater Curling Club as the Wolves face the St Mary's Mustangs
Then the gyms, the sheets and the arenas, from a high school standpoint, go dark until 2020.
The Ontario Hockey League is down to the final 2 days before the official Christmas Break.
The Owen Sound Attack actually are on their break after concluding their game last night at home, losing 3-0 to the Kitchener Rangers.
There are a handful of games on the go tonight, most notably for Owen Sound, I'm sure they'll be watching Sarnia at Saginaw plus Sault Ste Marie at Barrie
The Attack Christmas Break stretches until December 28th when they host Mississauga, and then have Barrie come in the following day
It's going to be an interesting & tight 2nd half.
Can Owen Sound make the playoffs for a 10th straight year ?
Can they win 30 games for a 10th straight year ?
Those will be challenges.
And finally, we'll see everyone in Meaford tonight as the Knights play their final Great Metro Junior Hockey League game before their Christmas holiday as they host the Bradford Bulls.
Game time is 7:30 pm at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre
Who doesn't love the Christmas holidays ?
I'm Fred Wallace
