The Province of Ontario is tightening restrictions on bars and restaurants.
Premier Doug Ford says starting Saturday, alcohol can’t be sold after 11 pm and consumption of it won’t be allowed on premises between 12 am and 9 am (that’s including employees).
Health Minister Christine Elliott says establishments will also have to close by 12 am and remain closed until 5 am, except for takeout or delivery.
“These measures are designed to address the rapid increase in community transmission in order to keep schools, post-secondary institutions and businesses open and of course to protect our most vulnerable residents,” said Elliott.
The Province is also closing all strip clubs starting Saturday.
Businesses will also have to comply with the Chief Medical Officer of Health on screening for Covid-19, including screening people who want to enter their premises.
Ontario is tightening public health measures province-wide in response to the recent rise in #COVID19 cases. These measures will ensure the continued health and safety of Ontarians, reduce the risk of transmission, and limit future outbreaks.https://t.co/ZUPAUz1GaW pic.twitter.com/S8ap9S3Qk4
