Saugeen Shores police are warning people about a licence plate scam.
They say the scam involves a text message sent to your phone that claims you were caught speeding by an automated speed trap device.
The text message says you’ve been ticketed and need to pay the fine by a specific date in order to avoid late fees and a court appearance.
It gives a bogus website link like http://ontariowebcourt.com
Police say not to send money. They say your phone number is not linked to your licence plate.
