Hanover Police say two people are now facing charges following a vehicle theft.
Police were told about the theft of a 2017 Hyundai SUV from a business on 10th Street on the morning of April 15.
They were able to set up surveillance on April 17th following a tip from someone who saw the SUV on Goderich Street in Port Elgin, and using video surveillance from local residents who were registered with the CamSafe program.
Police were able to arrest two suspects with the help of Saugeen Shores Police and the Emergency Response Team.
After the suspects were captured by police, the search of a motel room recovered stolen property, a small quantity of suspected cocaine, and two replica handguns.
The first suspect, a 43-year-old man of no fixed address was then turned over to Huron OPP, who had a warrant for his arrest.
Both he and the other suspect, a 33-year-old woman, are facing multiple charges, including theft of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property.
